From day one the Atelier Bloem site has been fully custom. Shopify sits quietly in the back, the entire front end built to the brand. No template, not at the start and not now.
That was deliberate. I wanted to be able to make anything I could imagine. If an idea arrives on a Tuesday, I want to build it that week, the way I think it should work, and change it again when it turns out I was wrong.
Subscriptions introduced the way a business person would introduce them, not the way a theme allows. A page for the custom pieces. A place for the partners we work with, and the projects we make together. The journey as it happens, rather than a tidy version of it afterwards.
But mostly I wanted it to be beautiful. I want you to arrive and be caught by something. The spacing, the type, the pace of a page as you scroll. Every one of those was a decision, not a default.
A site can be a shop. I wanted this one to be somewhere you want to spend a few minutes.
